KEBENE VILLAGE SUPPORT

Support a child for only EUR 15 per month!

KEBENE Village Support is a project on supporting children in the neighbourhood of KEBENE Children Home. The support will be managed by the Kebene team which is willing to find supporters for the school costs and medical care.

The costs we have calculated for this project are EUR 15 per month per child.

We have now selected 12 children who immediately needs support. If you want to be a sponsor of one of these children please contact us.

KEBENE Village Support is een project om kinderen in de buurt van KEBENE Children Home te ondersteunen. De ondersteuning wordt uitgevoerd door het Kebene team dat voornemens is sponsors te zoeken voor het betalen van schoolkosten en medische zorg.

De berekende kosten komen op EUR 15,00 per maand per kind.

We hebben om te beginnen 12 kinderen geselecteerd die direct steun nodig hebben. Wil jij een sponsor van een van deze kinderen worden, neem dan contact met ons op.

One of the Kenyan trustees of the Kebene Trust in Kenya will be in charge of the KEBENE Village Support. His name is Michael Mbivi and he is 38 years old. He has already worked for 3 years as a manager of Rainbow Appartments in Diani, district of Ukunda, and he is even in charge of the linked Belgium foundation, Rainbow4Kids, which organisation sponsors the lunch of the belowmentioned schools. Michael is married with his wife Faith and they have 4 children: Rose (10 yo), Kings (9 yo), Elizabeth (4 yo) and Dany (8 months old). They go to the same school as the children of KEBENE Children Home, Makaela Academies.

Een van de Keniaanse trustees van de Kebene Trust in Kenia zal als contactpersoon optreden voor KEBENE Village Support. Zijn naam is Michael Mbivi en hij is 38 jaar oud. Hij werkt al 3 jaar als manager van Rainbow Appartments in Diani, gemeente Ukunda, en is eveneens de contactpersoon voor de Belgische stichting Rainbow4Kids, welke organisatie de lunch van de hierna vermelde scholen sponsort. Michael is getrouwd met zijn vrouw Faith en samen hebben ze 4 kinderen: Rose (10 jaar), Kings (9 jaar), Elizabeth (4 jaar) en Dany (8 maanden). Ze gaan naar dezelfde school als de kinderen van KEBENE Children Home, Makaele Academies.

By visiting the children in the village and talking with the child, the parents and family we try to find out which kid really needs help.

Door middel van de kinderen in het dorp te bezoeken en door met het kind en zijn ouders en familie te praten proberen we erachter te komen welke kinderen echt hulp nodig hebben.

In Kenya you have free schools and schools with a tuition or school fee. The difference between these schools is that the free schools have classes of in and about 100 children. There are less teachers and less and bad facilities. The schools with a school fee have classes with around 30 children per class, have more teachers, have a lunch program and other good facilities.

In Kenia kent men gratis scholen en scholen waarvoor men schoolgeld moet betalen. Het verschil bestaat daarin dat de gratis scholen vaak klassen van 100 kinderen per klas hebben, dat er minder leraren zijn en dat ze over weinig of slechte faciliteiten beschikken. De scholen die schoolgeld vragen hebben klassen van ongeveer 30 kinderen per klas, hebben meer leraren, een lunch en andere goede faciliteiten.

KEBENE will seek a sponsor per child. The money will be paid directly to the schools. Michael will look after the schools for providing the sponsored children with uniforms, books and stationary. KEBENE will not give the money to the parents of the children, just to be sure that the money really will be spent for the school costs.

KEBENE zal voor elk kind een sponsor zoeken. Het geld zal direct aan de school worden betaald. Michael zal toezien of de school de gesponsorde kinderen zal voorzien van uniformen, boeken en ander schoolgerei. KEBENE zal het geld niet aan de ouders geven om er zeker van te zijn dat het geld echt wordt gebruikt voor de schoolkosten.

KEBENE is willing to provide children who are pointed out for the KEBENE Village Support with medical care. This medical care will exist out of a sort of insurance. This insurance means that a certain amount of the sponsored money will monthly go to a doctor or a medical organisation. In case the child needs medical care, it can go there for free.

The idea on the medical care will be revised within a couple of months. The execution of the idea will depend on the succeeding of the school project.

KEBENE is voornemens om de kinderen die zijn aangewezen voor KEBENE Village Support te voorzien van medische zorg. Deze medische zorg zal worden gegeven door middel van een soort verzekering. Deze verzekering houdt in dat een bepaald bedrag van het gesponsorde geld maandelijks naar een dokter of een medische organisatie gaat. Mocht het kind medische zorg nodig hebben, dan kan het kind gratis naar deze dokter of instantie gaan.

Het idee van de medische zorg zal binnen een paar maanden worden herzien. Het uitvoeren van het idee hangt af van het slagen van het school project.
